I am a Ph.D. candidate in Philosophy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where I am writing a dissertation under the supervision of Tom Dougherty and Gillian Russell. I received my B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Most of my primary and secondary school education took place in Trinidad and Tobago. 

I work in social and political philosophy of language. I am particularly interested in questions about the role that speaker intentions play in the interpretations and effects of an utterance. I also research how the social identities of speakers can partially determine things like what an utterance communicatees, implies, or how objectionable audiences consider the utterance.
